After graduating from Istanbul Bilgi University Fashion Design Department Merve Topal studied and attended many workshops in Italy and United Kingdom.

Her designs had been exhibited at Istanbul Biennial and Islamic Arts Museum while she was still studying. Merve says that these designs which attracted huge attention were her inspiration to create Merve Topal brand.
